Where in the world did April/May go? My very busy ambassadors

I am late, and not with my period. I thought I would be able to keep up with blogging but I guess I was wrong. I have some darling pictures so I think I will pick up where I left off. I hope for those of you that blog and read this, will not mind.

We were able to go to Cache County's Council Meeting and introduce the girls. The girls were very nervous but did an excellent job. They were put on the local TV channel and they thought they were cool!!!!!!We went to the meeting on April 28 at 5:00 in the County's Courthouse. They were able to turn around and takes pictures after 10 minutes of introductions and questions asked about the dairy industry in Cache County. Kjia is the 3rd girl going left to right and Morgan is the 5th girl in line. After the meeting we drove to Gossner's to meet with Delores Wheeler whose father was the founder of Gossner's. She was wonderful and gave us a small history lesson on the cheese factory. She also gave them an ice cream cone. The girls loved it!!!!!!!!!
The girls passing out ribbons and prizes at Black and White Days Dairy Show. They had a alot of fun and learned how to show dairy cattle.

Sorry the pictures are blurry. I was a little tired because I had worked the night before and this was during my naptime which never seems to happen.

The girls posing for the camera which they do so well. We are missing one girl because she couldn't miss school since this was during testing. We had tested in the morning and this show started at 1:00 P.M. and lasted till late afternoon.

Posing again!!!!!! They truly had a great time!!!!

This time they decided to smile. Back row: Rebecca and Morgan. Front row: Katie, Savannah, and Kjia. What great fun and the memories will last forever.

Our new house

Rhett of course hanging out by the John Deere Backhoe that is helping with our foundation. We are building a new house in Amalga. After almost two years of hassles, headaches, and money we have broke ground. When we were in Spanish Fork they dug the lot. I have posted just a few pictures but as of today, they hung the trusts. Yepeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Getting ready for the footings

Kjia rode a bucking horse May 9

Kjia was having a great day. Parade, horse show, friends, candy, and it all came to a halt in 8 seconds. She had been riding Rickoshe' for about 3 hours. She did her slow events and then did the poles. She had a good time on the poles but her dad wanted her to ride with her spurs. She didn't want to, but didn't argue with her dad. She ran the barrels and was headed home from the 3rd barrel. She hit Rickoshe' with her spurs and he started a bucking. We forgot how bad he hated spurs. He threw Kjia in the air and she came down on the swells of the saddle. She dropped the reins and he bucked again throwing her off like a rag doll. She laid there in the arena and Jeremy grabbed the horse so I could help with Kjia. Shane was at the trailer changing saddles so he could run the barrels on Brigham. Kjia was in pain but was able to walk out of the arena. There were alot of people and friends there. The ambulance and EMT's came running over fences and ambulance sirens on to help with Kjia. These pictures are the next day when I finally took her in, and they said she has a broken collarbone. She has lots of scrapes and bruises. She is a trooper though and wanted to get back on her horse. She will be off of everything for a while which is terrible but we will manage.

Smithfield Health Days-May 9

Smithfield Health Days was so much fun. A day full of events for us and the kids. We started off with the parade. The girls found dresses, shoes, jewelry the night before. What a run around day looking for all this to match and everyone being happy. I love these dresses, but i wanted a long dress for a float. They were expensive, but look darling on them. Parents are putting the float together and you can see Rhett on the corner of the picture.
Kjia on the upper top and Morgan on the second row from the top. They had a great time and was able to throw some candy. The parade was very long but the girls had a blast. Rhett had a great time catching the candy. He had a whole bag full of candy for the girls to share with him.
Rhett doing the walk and trot. He did a great job. This horse after all these years can still crow hop. He tried and jumped probably 5 times and Rhett just hung onto the horn and just smiled. He will be a great little rider and received a blue ribbon, candy, and pop. Rhett doing the walk and trot. "Hang on COWBOY" is what his friends yelled when his horse crow hopped!!!!!!Rhett and Morgan did the lead line. The girls fought over him but since Morgan was ready, she was the one able to go. The parade ended at 11:45 and the horse show started at noon. We were running crazy for awhile.Morgan with a big smile. She also placed well and had a great day.
Kjia riding doing her western pleasure class. She also did a great job placing second on her class.

Morgan riding Brigham in her pleasure class and had a great time. First show of the season and what a great refresher it is for the kids and the parents.

Grand Champion-Utah State Livestock Show

Morgan was Grand Champion again for the second straight year. Pictured below is Morgan and Kjia in the seventh class at the Utah Jr. Livestock Show in Spanish Fork, April 29-May 2. Kjia and Morgan are 2nd and 3rd in this picture lining up lightest to heaviest. This show has 57 steers total in the show. Morgan is trying to show Panda but he is truly being a big butt out there and Kjia is doing a good job showing Jess and watching the judge. Morgan is 1st in this class, and Kjia is 3rd. The steer on the left of this picture was second in the class, but ended up 3rd overall. We truly had a great time. We have some great friends that we show with and the kids get along well. We love to show and have fun together!!!!!
Morgan pulling into 1st place in her class. Panda was giving Morgan a hard time. He would also kick out so you had to be careful.
Shane went out and helped Morgan in the Grand Champion run because Panda was just being a terrible boy. He has been that way since day one, and we have worked with him. He is 100% better but is still a steer who doesn't lead the best, despite dragged behind a truck for 3 1/2 weeks and loves to kick. Morgan forewarned the judge so he didn't get kicked and that's why we didn't even get a picture. She thinks she has WON!!!! She DID!!!! GRAND CHAMPION two years in a row.

She did win!!! Panda was supposed to be Kjia's steer but he was just to mean for her. So in reality Kjia could of won, but Morgan won Champion again. This picture was taken the next day because Panda was such a butt and Morgan just wanted picture another day because it had been a long day and we had to show heifers right after the steer show.

Kjia and Jess. We truly loved our steers last year, but we were not sad to see these both go!!! Jess is also a kicker, and that's why his legs are not boned. Shane did not wanting an ER visit or be kicked again.

Rhett is his dad's washing boots. Shaunie Newman our good friend in the background.

Morgan at the awards banquet with her belt buckle. Beautiful!!!!! She is so happy and I love seeing our kids succeed in something they love.

Kjia and Morgan with their prizes!! Good job girls!!!
Sale Day!!!! What a wonderful day and great people who boost and bought our steer. THANKS A BUNCH!!!! He wouldn't hold still and wanted to kick at people and the camera man. Kjia and Shania, one of their many friends watching the show.

Kjia selling Jess!!!!
Rhett always playing around in the equipment!!!

Soccer has begun!!!!

Soccer has truly begun!!!!! We have practice on Tuesday and games on Wednesday's and Saturday's. Kjia, Morgan and Rhett play and love every minute of it. Kjia and Morgan are very aggressive and occasionally with get called on it when pushing. Kjia is a very good forward and loves to score. She is also very good at assisting with a goal. They have great coaches who play both girls most of the game. Rarely do they sit out due to their great playing and scoring. Morgan also plays forward or birdie and scores but will also work as a team player and assist with a goal if needed( not a ball hog, just a ball piggie once and awhile). I love how their aggressiveness has paid off. Their coaches both want them to play competitive but their dad doesn't think that is a good idea. Kjia is below right in the middle with black shorts and white socks. Rhett as goalie and posed to take a picture. I was like watch the ball and DON'T POSE FOR A PICTURE TILL AFTER THE GAME!!!! What a cute boy!!!
Rhett in a huddle, number 2 with his coach. The coach is so laid back and the first two games we lost. He decided to get a different approach and now the kids have won their last 4 games. Rhett has a powerful kick and loves to play but he has too many friends on his team and opponents team, he just wants to talk and play. He is improving greatly as the season moves on.
I lost some pictures so we get Kjia in her street clothes due to a broken clavicle and shoulder blade. She is done for the season. This is of Morgan, Kjia, Kelcee, and Breanne after one of the games. Morgan played goalie the 4th quarter. She had played forward and birdie the whole game and asked coach if she could play goalie for a break. She assisted beautifully with a goal and then scored once herself. She played awesome this game.
Morgan READY, SET, GOAL!!!! She is very intense player and loves to win. They have done well and only lost one game. The score on the lost game was 1-0, so you know it was a tough game.
Morgan playing intense and watching the ball. GOOD JOB MOE!!!!

Easter

I love Easter and the meaning that is brings. We had the cattle show yesterday and when we got home the kids were tired and went to bed (10:30), so the Easter Bunny was busy at work. We had bought eggs and dye, but we were all to tired so we planned on doing them tomorrow. Rhett wanted a bike so we got him a Tony Hawk Bike. People say they are one of the best built bikes. I guess we will see if it can withstand The Rhettster!!!!!!!! He also got some new church clothes, candy, a basket, and some clothes. They also got 2 new movies!!!!
The girls got their dresses early for the Dairy Ambassador Contest, so they got a bag for their horses boots, pick, and various other items. Clothes, Basket, Candy, and Taylor Swift, and Kellie Pickler tickets. We are going with Kjia's friend, Jordan and her mom and sister. May 26 is the day we are going. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!
My darling kids in their church clothes. I love them and they are very special to me.
Kjia and Grandpa Perkins talking about the Civil War and World War 1 and 2. Grandpa served in World War 2 and Kjia has a report due on the War. Grandpa tried to communicate to her about the war but due to his stroke he was unable to find the words. I thought Grandpa could communicate better than that because he does okay when it's small talk. We sure love him and are grateful for him. As I have known this man for over 15 years my love for him grows more each time we see him. He is the reason why Shane is such a great dad and guy. He practically raised him which I am so glad he truly had a hand in it. Grandpa in his chair. He has many naps in this chair. He loves to enjoy the sunshine and watch all the cars go by. He gave Morgan a guitar that needs some work, but is small enough for her to play. He played a tune for us and he plays all by ear. He had a band for many years and loved every minute of it. Morgan and Rhett always want him to play and will get out the guitar so he will. He went downstairs to help Grandma Sandi to find the guitar he gave Morgan, and he was out of breath each way. I have noticed his health declining but I guess it's going faster than I thought. I just wish he could be with us for a very long time.
Kjia taking pictures with her camera and her brother and sister were good sports especially on Easter. This is at Grandpa's house as we were showing Grandpa and Grandma Sandi our new house plans. We also ran some hogs to Grantsville and bought Rhett's horse home from Grandpa's house. We unloaded Pokey and ran the hogs off the trailer to be slaughtered. Rhett loves this horse even though he is swayed back and 30 years old.

Spring Break spent with friends and cattle!!!!!!!

Morgan, Kjia and Maddy working hard taking care of all their show animals. They were also singing and dancing on the hay bales. The girls had a great time hanging out together. Morgan and Kjia took two heifers each and one steer to the True Blue/Aggie Classic. This was held close to home which was very nice. We had two shows and 68 heifers and 54 steers were invited to show.
Rhett and his buddies had a great time playing on the equipment and just being boys. We were at the USU South farm in Wellsville. We love those shows that are close to home.
Kjia was showing Roxy and boy was she naughty today. We had shown her two other places and she had never acted this way. Shawn Summers, a good friend went and helped her because she was too naughty for even me to handle. Roxy is the family pet and Shane just loves her. At home she is a gem so who knows what made her such a pest this day. Some of the heifers were in heat(had some evidence on the back end) and so the girls asked Shawn Summers what that meant, he told them to go ask their mother. They say this life is truly an education when you are raising kids and animals on a farm.
Kjia posing for a camera. She is always loves her picture taken.

Morgan showing her heifer. She is a Angus Heifer that she bought out of the Rocky Mountain Angus Sale. She won the futurity last year with a Angus totally about $1200.00. This show was an all breed show and as we all know that a Maine heifer will truly beat out an Angus but we just needed to get some points for the futurity and we did with her reserve champion showman.
Morgan showing Dip-n-Dots and won Reserve Champion Showman. She did an excellent job with 18 kids showing in the Junior Division. She is such a natural when is comes to showing and her heifer was calm and worked well for her. We have showed her also before and she is settling down and acting like a little lady now.
Rhett and Maddi's little brother, Case (I think). Those boys played and had some much fun that Rhett fell asleep on the way home.
Whitney Wayment, Morgan, Maddi, and Kjia. They did an excellent job. Whitney won Grand Champion Steer in both shows. She is a darling girl and we have fun anytime we get with the Summers, and Wayments.

We spent all spring break getting ready for this show and we really needed the break. Cattle Shows can be fun but their are a lot of hours put in before the shows. These kids are great help and help tons at the shows but they also need to go with their friends and hang out. What great memories we are having with our kids and their friends.
