Rhett's Hockey Closing Social March 18

This is the closing of hockey for the season. We have had a great time and have had some fabulous coaches. This is Rhett getting his trophy. He was so excited but before we went I let him know that hockey was over till September. He was sad and not wanting to give some of his equipment back since we rented it. We just wanted to make sure he loves it. Well, he does love it, so we will be a hockey family. Morgan wants to play but she is in too many other activities. At the closing social the ones that played well and were starters received trophies. Mike Maero, one of his favorite coaches handed him his trophy. They had a hard time telling the names of some of the kids without their helmets, but not Rhett. They like him and the way he skates.

Below is Rhett walking back with a big smile on his face. He was so happy!!!! We could skate or eat pizza in the foyer and listen to drawings and socialize. We did a little bit of everything. I was out skating and those kids were wild. Imagine about 150 kids on hockey skates, that can skate well going mock 90. I was trying to show off and do a cross-over on a turn and belly flopped the ice. I was right in front of one of my long time friends Brian Sipe and some parents. I felt like such an idiot.

Mike Maero, an awesome coach and guy who loves and cares about hockey. A few weeks ago at the game, he was lifting kids in the box so the other could skate out. He went to lift Rhett and about fell on his butt. Rhett is very solid and he thought he could swing him over the boards. His comment about it was "Rhett is a solid kid with tons of potential but I just about fell over when I tried to swing him over the boards.Rhett with a big smile after receiving his trophy. Rhett has won ribbons and metals at fairs, rodeos, and soccer, but never a trophy. He is very happy and wants to carry it everywhere.
These pictures say it was March 17, but it was really March 18, 2009 at the Ellen Eccles Ice Arena. Shane and the girls were at 4-h riding their horses because we had a big riding clinic on March 21. We had a great time with friends, so much that I left my camera there and when I went to put this pictures on, no camera. I called them and we picked it up at the front desk. I need to put my name inside.

Kjia's Talent Show-March 20

Kjia performed "Listen to your Heart" at the school talent show. She was voted by her class to go in front of the school. In her class, they had 15 kids do a talent and she was voted my her class. She did an excellent job and I am so proud of her. When she finished, all the kids stood up and clapped. Many people told us that she should be on American Idol, but I think she couldn't handle Simon just yet. My friend at work told me that her daughter came home and said "Kjia sounded like an angel" and had her autograph with hearts on her hand. When I asked Kjia about it, she said it was the kids idea and I guess she has a fan club. Her friend Sage is the president of the fan club and she even had a girl call her and wanted her to sing on the phone. I was videotaping and Shane took pictures with the camera but his pictures didn't turn out. This picture is of Kjia and her favorite little brother, Rhett.

Hardware Ranch, March 15

We had Kelcee stay the night and then we went to Hardware Ranch. We had a fun but the weather was windy. When we left home the kids didn't want to wear their coats but when they got to the ranch they were glad they listened to their mother.
They were at the top looking over the hill after their ride, and reading about the elk. This is one of the last time they will have the rides for the year so we were grateful we had the chance to make it.

Below, is the team of horses and Eric (Kelcee's brother) who took us for our ride. The sled was taken off the week before so rode a wagon with tires. We had a fun, bumpy ride with a great driver.
Kjia, Morgan, and Kelcee looking their best in the wagon.
Rhett anxiously awaiting his ride. Here is some close pictures of some elk. We learned a lot about them and their lifestyles.

The kids had a great time. Rhett always seems to be in the middle even with the girls' friends. Kelcee is really a lot like a sister and we love to have her with us. After we went to Subway and enjoyed a late lunch. Shane was working so he wasn't unable to go with us.

Rodeo Queen BootCamp March 5-7

We had a great time this weekend. We learned alot, we played alot, and we ate alot. Morgan and Kjia saw some of their favorite friends like pictured below. Here is Morgan and Kjia with Cami Cushing McBride on the left, who was Miss Utah 2007 and on the right is Miss Rodeo America 2007, Ashley Andrews ? They were at camp and we learned alot from them. Cami loves the girls since we have seen her through the years at camp and rodeos. She is so cute and we truly love her.
Cami, Kjia and Morgan at the fashion show which was pink night with a 50's theme. You can't help to have some Queens around the King of Rock and Roll. They were also asked to dance and they did a great job. Kjia and Morgan with Reagan Torres, who is the Wilderness Circuit Rodeo Queen for 2009. She is from Roosevelt and has a great family. Reagan is so much fun and a darling girl.

Breanne and Taylor are some of our good friends. They are some cache valley girls that we love to hang around and be in parades and horse shows with. In the summer we spend a lot of time together, and in the winter they girls spend time texting each other.
Cali and her mother are some other good friends from Cache Valley. Cali is in the Cache County Royalty with Kjia. She is the Junior Queen and will queen in High School Rodeos. We made a lot of good friends at camp but the girl on the far right, is another one of our good friends. Stacy Johnson is her name and she has been at camp alot teaching. She is Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2008, and she is amazing. She was the first runner-up this year to Miss Rodeo America and was Miss Rodeo USA two years ago. I love Stacy and I wished she would of won, but she is amazing in every way. My girls love her and wanted her to win but she taught us alot at camp about looking inside yourself and that is not all about winning but your self worth. I cried, imagine that!!!! Also sitting at this table is her mother and some other state queens. What great memories and neat girls you will find.
The Spencer's are also some great friends that have been coming to camp and we had fun with them.
Renae Cowley, Miss Rodeo Utah 2008 standing with Kjia and Morgan. She is also a darling girl and we have grown to love her. She is beautiful and we have spend some time with her at rodeos. Kjia is also on her web page at www.missrodeoutah.com with Cache County Fair. She was 4th runner up to Miss Rodeo America. She is also one that you would expect to win because they truly have it together when it comes to Rodeo Queens. What a fun weekend but exhausted due to early morning meetings and very late nights playing and have fun.

Shane is a WINNER!!!!!!

Shane won 6 tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters on the radio. He was the 4th caller and so we were able to go to the Energy Solutions Arena for a night of fun. We invited Grandma Sandi to go with us. We had some nosebleed seats and so we moved to the lower bowl. We split up and went in different doors. One of the ushers would not let us through so went to another door and they let us in. An usher was asking everyone to see their tickets that tried the same thing but she need asked us. We were very lucky because they were making them return to their regular seats. We had a great time but the kids had a late night for having school the next day. If you notice 00, for the Tremonton friends, that is Rod Zundel. He played and they teased him a lot. Rhett was able to get his picture with globie and it is also on their web page to buy.

Kjia, Morgan, and Rhett by the Jazz car. Rhett wanted to take it for a joy ride.

Shane, Sandi, Morgan, Rhett, and Kjia in the nosebleed section. As you noticed you can see the back wall. When you get up that high, I get scared and become afraid. I think it's the old age coming out in me. Now you can see why we moved down to the lower bowl. Free tickets and then you move to where you can see the best.

Shane and his mother, Sandi. They had a great time and it was good for them to be together. Shane hasn't seen his mother still before his step-dad died.

The kids and their popcorn. I think they ate the whole bucket.

Game against Davis February 28

Rhett is ready for his hockey game with Davis. He is number 20, he is turned around watching the big boys playing their game. He has some good friends that love to play.

Rhett is the one ready to hit the puck and make a goal. I hope he gets a little more aggressive though, he just loves to skate, fast that is, but also wants to make friends out on the ice.

Rhett is standing next to number 16 and is pants seem to be falling down. He forgot to tighten them before going on the ice.

Late pictures due to February Frenzy!!!!

Here is Kjia and Ashley at one of Rhett's Hockey games with the Trappers. We had some friends come with us and this is Kjia's good friend.
This is Jon and Joyce Pitcher or better known as Grandpa and Grandma Pitcher. They are very good to us and love coming and supporting Rhett and the Trappers.

Morgan, Rhett, and Kelsey posing for the camera. They love being together at the hockey game.

Rhett is ready to play and at the Trappers game. He loves hockey and skating. He is truly a natural and the coaches think is good.

Waiting for the game to begin as the Zambonie sweeps the ice. This pictures were taken in February. Boy I am late on posting.
