My Dairy Ambassadors, April 4

Morgan was number 10 and had to model as they read a about her and her talents. She did a great job. There were 13 kids in her age group (9-10) and she did a great job.

Morgan was modeling and did a great job.

Kjia modeling and she did a great job also. There were 6 in her group (11-14)and they picked three ambassadors. Dad was taking pictures as I was videotaping. They were very cute and had a great time.

These are the six new ambassadors and last year's six ambassadors with Cache County's Dairy Princess, Megan Jessop. We were thrilled that Kjia and Morgan made it. We have a very busy schedule but it will be worth it.

We had such a crazy week that Thursday I had called the 4-H office to get the number of the lady in charge. I felt like we weren't ready since I hadn't even picked up the paperwork and questions that they needed on Saturday. After I thought about it I called Peggy again at the office and since I was going pass the office to gymnastics I would pick it up and think about it. I felt like since our soccer game on Saturday was cancelled due to wet soccer field, and we had committed we should participate in the Dairy Ambassador Program. Morgan had her party on Friday night so at eleven at night we made a slogan and practice questions. I told the girls just to go and have fun the next morning. I said it will make good practice for queen contests in one month. I have never been so relaxed in my life, because usually I am nervous and uptight. Well, after they announced their number and went up on the stage, Shane asked about the queen contests. Morgan was going to try out for Cache County Rodeo Jr. Princess. He wanted Kjia to hand down her title to her sister. I explained to him that they ride their float in all the same parades as the rodeo royalties. He was upset but I explained to him that I thought we were just coming for some practice because we were so unprepared. Shane is a great dad but did complain at times about all the rodeos and parades that we had to attend. He also hated dealing with all the clothes, hats, etc. that we needed. This will be better though this year due to building a house. The girls are excited and will be great as ambassadors. Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Morgan is 10, April 2

Morgan was awaken with a muffin, candles, and us singing happy birthday!!!! Happy Birthday and we love you Morgan!!!!!!!

She was spoiled with many gifts and hopefully she had a great day. I can't post all the pictures so I will just post some of her gifts. I went to lunch with her and brought her Subway. I waited in line forever so I was a little late. I ate her school lunch and then was able to get lunch later.

Morgan and her cowgirl purse!!!! She sure loves the BLING, BLING!!!!!!

Morgan wanted a german chocolate cake and we were able to celebrate after dance, gymnastics and a 4-H meeting. It was 9:00 p.m. when the cake was cut. Thanks Morgan for hanging in there and celebrating late on your birthday.

Here's my artist, and she is really good. I love the way she uses her talents. This is Morgan and all of her friends. We had a birthday party and went ice skating. We came back and had some more cake and ice cream. We had a great time and no injuries on the ice. Before we took the girls home, Shane was telling scary stories and some of the girls were scared. We had some vehicle trouble due to the wreck on Tuesday and when on the way home, the side door flew open. Six girls were screaming their heads off. Morgan was laughing so hard, she about went to the bathroom on the side of the road. We called Shane and he came and helped us get the door closed. The girls were saying this was the best party ever. I think they will remember this for a long time. All of them are darling girls with great families and we had a great time with them. I can't wait to get into our new house so we can have lots of parties.

Terrible Tuesday

What a morning we had this terrible day. I had worked two nights and was very tired so at 5:30 a.m. I pulled in the driveway and parked behind Shane's Dodge. I was thinking that he would drive the black truck to work and I also had to go to the bathroom. Well when I walked in the door, Shane met me at the door telling me we had 2 inches of water in the basement. The sub-pump had stopped and flooded the basement. What a mess since the two girls are downstairs and all of our office and scrapbook stuff is on the floor. Since Shane was going to stay home to help me clean up the mess, he agreed to take the girls to school. We had snow everywhere and he was unaware I parked behind him. You guessed it. He hit my van and put 2200 dollars worth of damage to the side door. The van is paid for and is worth about that. We will await what the insurance company will say about the damage. Preston Watts gave me a bid and it's pretty well totaled. He was MAD at me and the girl's witnessed some colorful words. He did stay home and bought some fans and blowers to help clean up the mess. I knew it was best to go to bed and kept my mouth shut about this matter. I had hit Mandy's car door in the same spot in my driveway a year ago and received a lot of crap from that but I could tell this wasn't a good day to give it back. We are stressed a little because we are building a house and need to put all the money we can to build our house. I will love it but it's not my dream house. We are building a country home so in a few years we can sell it and build a home on more ground. We will have 4.2 acres but we need more with all the cows, but for now it will be great.

Early party for Morgan's Birthday

Our week started out on Sunday having a party for Morgan's birthday in Salt Lake. We went to Calhoon's Chinese Restaurant in West Valley and then had cake and ice cream at Grandpa Perkin's House. We had a great time and love being with him and grandma Sandi. Morgan was given an I tunes card and jewelry with cards and money. She was a happy girl. She is turning 10 and is growing up way to fast.
Grandpa and Morgan posing for a picture. Grandpa fell a few weeks ago and is healing pretty well. He had a black eye, bruised cheek and bruises on his extremities.

Rhett and Morgan love playing Grandpa's guitar. I really wish they would want to play a guitar or other musical instruments but hopefully one day that will happen. Kjia and Grandpa Perkins sitting together waiting for cake and ice cream. Our kids just love him and love to be with him. He had a stroke a year ago and at times its hard to communicate but we are just happy having him with us.
